I need to put new pads on the front of my 96, raybestos has a ceramic pad that is there premium offering. Anyone know if these are any good or are the factory semi-metallic the way to go? TIA
I just switched to AC-Delco Durastop (cermaic) awesome pad, almost no dusting, extremely quiet and stops really well. They were not very expensive, give Chris a call at Superior 1-800-728-8267. He's on vacation but I think he's back on Wed.

After using a variety of brake pads, including stock semi-metallic and Friction Performance Carbon, I've settled on Ceramic units (SBS ProTouring). While they are a bit more money than the others, their benefits make them a tremendous value.
I'll look into the AC-Delco Durastops for my next replacement.
Another thing that is no longer present with these Durastops, I used to get this loud groaning grabbing sound when I inched forward especially after it was wet like reposition after washing the Vette or sometimes in the rain. I've heard that same sound on several other GM's I had previously so never gave it much thought as an issue. When I switched the pads that has totally gone no more of the grabbing sound.
