Default Heater Question

I recently purchased a 93 with 44,000 miles. The car is in great shape! I have noticed a couple problems, one being the heater. It would seem to me that when I try to turn on the heat, the AC actually comes on. I can set the climate control to the highest setting but it will not blow heat. The AC seems to work fine. Not a huge deal as I will not be driving it in the winter. Would be nice on those cool mornings with the top out though!

After I purchased my 92 I discovered that the previous owner had bypassed the heater where the hoses connect at the firewall. I reconnected them and sure enough the heater core leaked.

I will have to check into that, I didn't think about that at all.

Same heater problem here. However I know mine used to work. Thankfully I need it about a month out of the year. The guy I take it to thinks it may be the climate control computer, which is about $400 and is not returnable. I'm not going to worry about it for a while yet but more R&D is planned this winter.
