Default Door Molding

Could someone tell me how hard is it to remove the molding on the door as well as the short strip to the rear of the door? I would like to repaint them and wondered if leaving them on the car would be better than trying to take them off to paint them?

You can take them off, but I wouldnt if the trim is ok. Just mask them off real well before spraying.

I reshot mine right on the door. Just tape it off good. Two coats of base and two coats of clear. Undetectable.

The trim is still in good condition. That was what I was worried about, taking them off and then not being able to get them to fit back properly. Thanks

Jet, you crack me up.

Is there anything you haven't tackled on that car?

Anything lower in the engine then the intake manifold, transmission and rear end. Oh and I haven't messed with all those u-joints in the rear, nor the wheel bearings. So I still have things to experience....

With labor rates at $85-90/hr, I have to keep my tools well oiled. Hey probably not this Saturday but the next I'll be pulling the stinkin' heater core again. One year and it has a leak... I freaking can't believe I have to tear the car all apart again. So all are welcome to come over for a 'how to replace your heater core' seminar. LOL. (As you can tell I'm not happy about having to do this again, the only good part is Chris is covering the part under warranty.)

Dad gum !! I wonder if that cheezy clip at the top rubbed through the tank. I did my best to get that thing back on exactly the way GM had it but I know I've displaced it just a bit.

I'll be curious to know whether you're able to pinpoint the leak once you get the core out.

Good luck, Bro.

The coolant scent is consistent and strong enough I'm sure it will be visible where the leak is. Seems to my recollection, getting the screws into the metal band was likewise a PITA.

If my heater core starts leaking it's nice to know there is a expert in the area.
