Default Oh Yeah! Another wave thread...

So does anyone else have a fellow vetter that you see on the way to work or on the way home everyday that you : to? There is a white C5 that I see every morning. It's always nice to get that wave before work. He even seems to run late when I do.

Are you sure it's not your reflection you're waving to?

Not recently, but a hundred years ago I had a 73, I lived in CT, and my morning commute took me up the "mountain" to Simsbury. I always got a wave from a guy heading down into Hartford in his red mid-year coupe. He was mostly bald, looked to be about 60 and wore a suit & tie. I was in my 20's and I was kind of surprised at first to see an older executive-type driving a Vette. Silly me.

I will pass a few here and there. I always wave but only get waves back from C4's or older. No C5's or C6's ever wave. They must be to good for us

Default Still wave myself

I pass a few everyday. I occasionaly get to commute with one in the same direction. Spent a few miles the other day following a yellow 86 that was fun. I have never had a C6 wave some older C5s have and anything <=C4's do all the time. I think it's funny when I wave at say older woman in a new C5/6 that has no clue what I am doing. Some of them look a little frightened! Oh well. We, for the most part, have a nice fraternity of fellow owners. Eric

I passed a guy who lives a few blocks away yesterday. He's been restoring his silver C3 and finally took it out for a drive. I waved and he just kinda glared back at me... made me a little mad that he just gave me the dirty look. Unfortunately, I rarely encounter another vette, but sometimes they do wave!

Well, that sucks. I actually have the best luck with C6's. They are at about 95%. They have a better percentage than other C4's around here. Actually C5's are doing better right now than fellow C4ers. I'm at 2 for 9 these past two week for C4s.

As for the initial question - nope - but there's a vette that shows up at our building about the same time every week. I think it must be someone visiting the shrink in the office next to ours! I keep trying to catcha glimpse of them to say howdy but no luck yet.

I don't know if it's where I live, but I get waves from C5's and occasionally from C6's, but hardly ever from any else. I see C4's all the time and they look at me like I'm retarded or don't look at all. Confusing.

I waved to a C-5 and a C-6 on the way home and got no response. Doesn't matter to me any more. At least I know I did my part. Got behind a 69 Rally Sport on the way to work this morning and all he tried to do is get away from me. I guess it must be me.

I seem to get the same response.

Every so often I get a wave from a C5.

Never pass the same guy ina Corvette to work too often. There is a guy with a newer C3 with god awful 20" rims that I see most often of.

However, whenever I drove my fathers Trans Am around in the spring I always passed this really hot girl or ended up behind her at a light who owned a black Trans Am. Even stopped at a store one time to see her pull up next to me and we exchanged smiles. Now that I inharited my Corvette I havn't seen her ONCE! I thought I did and went to follow the car but I realized it was the other black one with a Supercharger where a really ugly dood with a fro drives it. Kinda made me sad.

I never seem to have problems with people not waving or giving the V back to me. A few days ago though I went all out had the V out my window to a red C4... It was a women driving it and she looked at me like I was crazy. I was like wtf?

Also I remember a new Z06 didn't pass me a wave... Kinda angered me because that's THE Vette and I wanted some respect back. Probably was a past Viper owner.

the chances of me seeing a vette once every 6 months let alone seeing one everyday are way off the chart....
(im in Australia)

actually, there is a 1970 vette parked in the street about 15 minutes from me....its parked in the street all the time its cool seeing it whenever I do drive past the area, actually a girl owns it, hows that for cooincidence, 2 females, 2 vettes, both 1970 and both red (mine won't be red forever though!).

btw : I will have my 1990 next week

I wave every time, but I never seem to get a response. Yesterday I waved at a guy in a C-5 coming from the opposite direction on a 2 lane road and there was no way he could have missed it, and he drove right passed me. I should have held up a sign. Then again- he probably would have given me the finger or something. Sometimes you get that up here in Jersey. When I have recieved a response, so far it's only been from C-4's. Oh-well

Back in the 70s when i worked about 16 miles from where i lived, i had a bananna yellow 71 Dodge Challanger and i always took the county road to work cause it was twisty & i could make real good time Every day i would meet a blue Pontiac something driven by an interesting looking gal. Well, i started waveing and so did she and soon we both had big smiles on our faces when we met each other, usually at the same place every day. I still think about her every once in a while, wonder if she thinks about me?????

I wave to every Corvette I see, if I see it in time to wave. Sometimes it difficult to tell if I get a wave back, specially with Coupes, so I don't worry about it.
