I searched high and low for a shifter for the Corvette console. I don't think anybody makes one, at least not as of last fall. I put in a B&M Megashifter. It took a bit of work to make it fit. As you can see from this picture the boot does not reach down far enough. The shifter I put in is made for a 82-93 Firebird/Camaro console, I don't remember the exact model number. Something like 80698. I have taken the car to a guy that does custom street rod interior and he said he is going to make me a nice black leather boot that will fit real well. He said it will cost $50. I just have to take the car back to him and leave it for a couple hours so he can make it. The shifter handle looks kind of high in the picture but it is very well positioned for shifting and I like the position very much. If you decide to put one in e-mail me while you are doing it if you have any questions and I will call you and talk you through it if I can.
what have you done about the lighted gear indicator? do you have any more pictures? i was thinking about maybe trying the quick silver..also does the t handle screw off? its it a normal threaded connection?
ok i took a closer look at the pic,i see you've used the camaro plate and bolted it to the console, that would take car of the gear selection. How about actually mounting the shifter? did it bolt right in? or did you have to drill?

Hey Im new to the forum and I know that the thread Im referring to is old, but I was just wondering how did the shifter fit and look after you completed the installation. My brother bought me a 1985 c4 for graduation and Im wanting to do the same.
I did a stealth ratchet based on msevens and others threads. the after market shifter will actually fit in the current auto slot without having to leave it on top of the consol. you fabricate an aluminum plate, that bridges the tunnel in the floor , mount the shifter to that and then reinstall the consol, then just get any of the aftermarket boots. If you want to keep the indicator, you'll need to use the setup 'cover' that came with the shifter or make one . The stealth had indicator panel, reverse lockout , reverse microswitches, etc. any shifter will work as log as its adapable to the 700R4 and you are handy
