Default Tail light blackouts

Any one have these? what are they like? Any pics?? I'm thinking they will look really good on my red '92.
Also is there any law against them in Cali.?
Thanks

as far as I am aware you can not cover your rear tail lights. The covers on the front driving lights are only allowed during the day, i believe.

I realize many people think that tail light black outs look "cool", but they make me cringe whenever I see them on a Vette. Not because I think they look bad, but because I feel that they invite trouble from other drivers. They make both the brake lights and turn signals difficult to see.

Personally, I'd rather be a bit less "stylish", than have a rear-ended Vette. :cry

Check my signature pic. The blackouts came from mid america and they do not make your tail or brake lights hard to see. When your lights come on the blackouts appear to be almost clear. I was surprised myself when I saw how good you can see your tail and brake lights through them. Don't know about cal. law.

I agree, the brake lights show up just fine.

I'll bet those "lovers" are having a fun time on the rear of your Vette. Sorry, just couldn't resist. :D

I have seen the static cling type. I wonder if you could just buy a static cling window tint kit and cut the shape out. Anyone ever thought of this?

I originally bought a set of the static clings for my 95 and they worked fine. Then ended up buying a set of the blackout lenses from a forum posted that was selling a bunch of stuff a few years ago and I think these definitely look better than the clings.

I run them on both front and rear, no problems at all. It kicks behind on a Vette that is black to begin with. ;)
