Stereo Control Problem
I need advice on what may be wrong with my stereo controls. About 16 months ago I had my '95 in the Chevy dealership garage to install my keyless entry and work on my cruise control. Shortly after,I lost all ability to control my stereo. It started blaring and I had no way to shut it off or control it unless I shut the car off. It also made my station/time display go off. I took it back to the garage and asked if they might have messed up a wire somewhere. The mechanic acted like he wasn't sure, but after getting it back it did stop for awhile. Occasionally it has done it again, usually when I hit a bump and doesn't last long. Two weeks ago it happened again and I haven't been able to drive it since. I live in a small town and I don't want just anyone tearing into it. I don't want to take it back to the Chevy dealer as they keep it too long trying to figure out what's wrong and I don't think they have a person who's well trained in working on Corvettes. It would be difficult to drive it anywhere very far due to the loud volume. I could maybe pull the fuse to it, but would need assistance in that department. Any ideas?
