I have a '90 so it wouldn't apply to my car but that would be a cool little mod for the bread box.
A friend of mine has an '89 'vert so I'll keep an eye on this post.

I removed mine,{84},
and still have it,excellent cond.,if someone wants it,but anyway,painting the letters is tough,
I would look around the Art Stores,for sheets of letters,you might find the right size

This may be what you are looking for. The example on the right looks like he might use a font that you supply.
