Default how to fix interior

Hi how would you fix this on a 93 vette interior? The door pannel and center consel both have the flat black coating rubbed off.You can see the shinny black plastic in a few spots.Right next to the handle on door pannel and various small spots on the consel. To buy a new door pannel would be best but don't have the money right now. I'm thinking of rubbing the rest of the coating off around the door handle and painting it with some int. color tinted flat black. Then just touching up the consel with a brush as needed. I would lose the yellow R-L decals on door pannel but other than that it should look better. Got any other idea's? Thanks Tim

It is hard to determine just what you mean. Do you have a picture?

Used car dealers have vendors that will actually paint internal pieces. This is a good short term fix, makes it look good.

You'd have to be a color match guru with a Spray gun and compressor to go that route.

Do a search here for painting interior pieces. I remember seeing something very recently about this particular repair.

It has a Dulso finish on it. There is a tech tip on how to R&R the Dulso but it's really a meticulous process.

While OEM parts are still available spend a few dollars and get new one's. I did, it basically resets the clock on the interior parts.

Yep, honestly it is something that is best replaced. The tedium and questionable results from trying to repair these is not worth it in my opinion. The earlier C4 plastic was more forgiving to letting you polish out scratches or even paint it, but then every screw hole tried to crack. Both are aggravating for different reasons.

Jet-Jock hit it on the head with picking up the replacement pieces on Ebay or from a vendor. I replaced the shifter console, and the dumb design floppy visors as well as a couple little trim pieces and it truly made my interior "new" again, all for a few hundred dollars.
