I have a brand new swith for it but not sure of the best way to get to it to replace it anyone have any suggestions or know of the right screws and location of them, so i can remove the old swith and put in the new one.

If it is like my 1992 get your phillips head screw driver out and take off the door panel to get to the switch. Good luck!

Be sure to clean the contacts at the plug as that may actually be the source of the problem.

I believe on the door lock, you'll remove the center screw seen through the handle once that plate is remove (it pivots out), then there is two more screws one (see below) the other take a small blade screw driver and pry off the door lock latch, then move the rod out of the way to get to the second. The assembly should come out at that point. The switch is a little tough to disconnect because of all the pins.

Forgot, the door lamp lens must be removed. Use a small blade screwdriver and pry down on the lens it rotates down. Make sure either you allow the interior lights to cycle off or close the door and allow the bulb to cool off. It is a high intensity lamp and gets really hot in seconds. (Something to be aware of when you reinstall to be sure you get the wires tucked in behind and above the bulb so they don't melt. Pay attention as it rotates down where the wires are located. I prefer to just open the door, wait a few minutes for the battery protection to cycle the lights off. Then start that way power has been removed from the circuit.
Once you rotate it down, use your small screwdriver and pop the bulb out of its holder. Since your not removing anything, there should be enough slack to pull the lamp assy out some and remove the screw and the assembly enough to get access to the switch. Otherwise to be safe, pull the lamp assy out and disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the upper screw now. Then do the one behind the latch. Then rotate the assembly out.
