Default Major C4 Vert problem

Well I rencently sold all my other cars, except my wifes Grand Cherokee & my 1987 Corvette convertible. The lack of storage space in my Vette is really starting to bug me. I wanted to go play golf the other day but There was no room for the clubs. Since my wife was at work what was I to do? Well no golf for me. I can't bring myself to just throw the clubs in the front seat. Anybody have any ideas. I was thinking of buy a stock luggage rack and trying to rig somthing up. Does anyone make a rack out there? How about some ideas

I don't see whats the problem with putting the clubs on the floor in the front seat? And if you get a luggage rack and put holes in your car.. you will regret it.

What's the big deal about placing the clubs/bag on the passenger's side floor and have the bag rest against the seat bottom? If you're concerned about rubbing the seat leather, place a bath towel on it.

A post-factory luggage rack?........

I know this sounds crazy as hell, but if you don't want to put em in the front seat, and you have a square stock receiver for a hitch, you could slide one of the cooler racks into it and strap the clubs down. Would avoid the [paint/holes/body problems drilling the car up for a luggage rack.

Well you could join a fancy *** country club with lockers and keep your clubs there.

Or just put in the front seat like the rest of us.

Dont you play golf with someone else... if so throw them in their vehicle and you follow behind them in the vette. that way this avoids you putting one of those hideous racks on the back of your vert.

Tip the passenger seat forward and lay the clubs in there. I am not a golfer so have never tried this. Also, won't they fit in the back under the hatch when the top is up?

Put on a trailer hitch and buy one of the locker / stoage bins that mount to the reciever. See them all the time in the pick-up accessory catalogues.

To start with, I knew before I started shopping a C4 vert that they have no room for clubs.

Having said that...here's what I do:

Take the clubs out of the bag. That reduces the load that you're subjecting the seats to - (I know, but that's just me.) Standing on the right side of the car (top down) put the rh seat back forward, and lay the clubs behind that seat in the baggage area. (14 clubs with head covers will all go in.)
Return the seat back, put your interior-colored huge bath towel on the floor in front of the seat and set the bag there. (Tour bag will fit with the seat all the way back.) Put your second interior-colored bath towel between the bag and the seat. Then go have a seat, yourself, and drive to the club.

When you've finished your round, and BEFORE you go to the 19th, remember to put those nasty, grassy shoes in a bag so you don't wind up with grass all over your seat, carpet, and bath towel. THEN, go into the 19th.

I've never done this with the top up because, frankly, if it's not pretty enough to go to the club with the top down, it's not pretty enough to take the Vette.

'Course you realize by now, you ain't takin' anybody with you if you're hauling your clubs. Have fun.

thankfully you didn't take up hunting as a sport. imagine strapping that dead dear on the hood. plus the gun rack. seems like you may need to get rid of the vert for a coupe.

Not sure if you're talkin' to me or him but if you're talking to me, I did not buy the thing to play golf. When I bought it, the only mental image I had of that car and me at the club was for transportation to the 19th for bs sessions. (I normally use what belongs to She Who Must Be Obeyed for hauling my clubs.)

But you make a good point about hunting. Wouldn't that be a hassle, assuming anybody would want to take his Vette to the woods. Hmmmm...that does remind me of that guy from Colorado we were all chukling about here on the forum a couple of months back.

I have always found that the second round played in the clubhouse usually results in less strokes. I would leave the clubs at home, and go straight for the second round.

Maybe I'll just bring a Driver, Pitching wedge & Putter. Kind of Caddyshack style
