You might want to check your brackets and make sure they aren't loose. Loctite? Oh, and check to make sure the top isn't separating from the frame.

Default loose screws

Having had a long project on my top - first make sure !!! that the "a" & "B" pillar weatherstriping is in as new condition no tears or pieces missing. Second get an owners manual and line the top up to the alignments speificed ( this will require to take the windshield header molding off to make these adjustments) and lastly get a couple of new bolts for the "B" connection). If you do not have a wratchet wrench to tighten the front and rear bolts get one. If the top is seperating there is a Sim product that is specific to bond the top to the frame. With all this it will not be necessaryt to locktight as that is a bandade not a fix. I know I tried all the quick fixes.

Does it get loose just once? Or does it it get loose time and again?

Whend ever I put the top back on, I drive a bit then I have to re-tighten...but just once

They get loose quickly after I tighten and stay tight for about 10 minutes and rattle loose again.
