Hey guys...first of all thanks for the help earlier on my 96 LTI...broken wire to the speed sensor.
Anyway, looking at a 94 vert...100,000 miles. Hunter green...tan interior that is in great shape. Guy says it is an updated stereo at $1900. Looks more like $500 to me. Has wood dash components. Has the rubber to replace the bad around the top and windows. Engine looks very clean. New tires and upgraded wheels...5 spoke corvette chrome. Not the wagon wheels. They are in great shape. Top looks pretty good with only a small separation at bottom of clear window in back. Blows cold air with two power seats. New leather seat covers. Strange, I have never seen that type...black and tan with "corvette" top front. They look good in great shape. Has the original stereo.
The bad...has a slight miss at idle in gear but runs strong. Miss is more pronounced with AC on at idle. Has an engine service light on...told be it was a loose light bulb according to his mechanic. Has a slight shimmy at 55-60. Had a salvage title at one time...but is clean now. Several areas repainted...not bad but not like my sharks.
Overall very presentable car. Is it worth $10,000?
Not with a previous salvage title and the miles. The SES light is on for a reason and not because of a loose bulb. Could be an easy fix or a hard one. I would say closer to $5,000-6,000. JMO
Bad bulb is the biggest lie since I didn't inhale. I'm surprised he didn't just pull the bulb. Be VERY afraid. If you did this for aliving, $5000 would be fair, otherwise run, don't walk to the nearest exit.
They've been "cleaning" salvage for years, it's just harder now with Carfax. All It mean is the insurance co. bought it back for some reason, doesnt mean it was cut in half or laid under the ocean for three months. If it doesn't say salvage on the title, it's not salvage, but most dealers do check carfax, and won't touch them for liability reasons. (damn lawyers!)
