Default A/C Control

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement A/C control unit? The one in my '88 is going all wacky. I've tried playing with and cleaning the connectors, as I've seen so many people explain, but it still does the same thing. I think it just finally went out =(

I'd post a request in the parts wanted section, but I'm not ready to buy it just yet. I'd like to look around for average costs. Vette2Vette didn't have anything over there.

I've found a lot for the later-model C4s, but nothing for the '88 =(

Thanx in advance!

A new one is available from Mid America and the like for around $400, however you can have it rebuilt for about $150 or so too.

http://www.mrwhizard.com/services2.cfm

Climate Control Units
1987-89 Chevy Corvette - Symptoms: Digital display is dim, dark or erratic. Cool Button does not work. Repair Cost $149

I haven't used them but I plan on sending mine there soon. They do the cluster as well for $200.

1984-89 Corvette - Symptoms: Intermittent or Dark. Cluster kills battery after a few days. Sorry we cannot repair Corvette clusters where the displays are "sunburnt". A normal cluster display should look black when the vehicle is off. If it is sunburnt you will see color through the display(s). Repair Cost $199

Thanks a lot! I'll just have MidAmerica rebuild mine. I can go a week or 2 w/o a/c (never use it, anyways).

If you scroll further down on the page you'll find it for the climate control. That prices includes prepaid postage to and from their shop. Unbeatable IMO!!!

There's a guy on E-Bay that repaired mine. I sent it to him and he replaced a few capacitors or something. He told me looked like it had been repaired before. He didn't have anything to bench test it, so he sent it back to me to test it. I have been running it since with no problems at all. His E-bay name is Caferacer1. His name is Carl Cowles. He's out of Conneticut. His e-mail address is caferacer1@comcast.net. He charged me 100.00. I paid through Paypal. Pretty easy transaction. Check him out if you like.
