how bout on an 86? Do this with just the battery on?
On a 86 use the paperclip in terminal A and B (top two far right... next to each other), turn the key to on and watch the SES light. It blinks instead of giving a number. Blinks a code 12 first, then what ever code is stored, then the code 12 again.
thank you! So the code to look for is in between the two code 12s?
The code 12 is a diagnostic check of the ECM and will show up evertime as long as the ECM is working properly. The code 12 will flash before and after any stored codes and this tells you that no more codes are present.
