'84 replacement tops
Has anyone had Astrotops in Alabama rebuild or replace their old tops? I am thinking about sending in mine. There price seems right, $479 with a rebuildable core.

What do you want "rebuilt". I mean to say...the hardware or the material on the headliner??

There have been positive and negative reports about the company, its product and service. You may want to do an advanced search of the names, astro tops, thompsons, etc. and make your decision accordingly.

Why do you need it replaced? Is it debonding or is the top scratched and faded. If debonding the first thing to check is the "A" & "B" weather strip. If it less than like new, gouges, cuts, pieces missing or the original where the weather stripping is compressed the Astro top or a rebuild of the original will only debond again. The reason is the added body flex will be to much of a strain on the bonding agent.
