Default Chrome or Polished wheels?

What are easier to keep clean?

What is involved in cleaning each type, I have narrowed it down to chrome ZR1 or polished TT 2's. They are about the same price.

If the polished wheels aren't clear coated the chrome will be easier. If they are, the polished will be easier IMO.

I would go with the polished. I saw a product on Overhaulin that is like a buffing pad for wheels that you attach to your power drill. I can't remember if it is made by Flitz or Mother's. They made the job look easy. Chrome can sometimes flake off.

Corvetteronw is right: it's a polishing "ball" of red fluffy stuff made by Mothers. On sale at Pep for about 18 and change.

My take on it, after having all three is chrome is much easier. That's just my opinion, but for three years, on my winter/summer hauling/dd car, the chrome, if you don't wash it----just go out with clean rags and a spray bottle of water once a week. Spray and wipe off dust. This assumes that you originally and occasionally, wash the wheels completely and put on some wax of some kind about twice a year.

With this technique I've gone through winters, salt, mud, water, etc. And they still look good.

Painted even with clear coat and polished again with clear coat doesn't seem to me to be quite as trouble free. And btw, chrome is not my favorite; on the Corvette, there are powdercoated and clearcoated gray wheels. But it doesn't see snow, rain, mud, etc. And it gets so many washings and waxings..
