Default Correct Spare for '91

I have a '91 and an '84 coupe, both without a spare tires. I recently found two spares in a corner of the basement. Both appear to be Corvette spares and look similar but have different offsets and caliper clearances. One has an "XDX" stamped near the valve stem and the other is stamped "FZ".

Does anyone know if either of these spare belongs to an '84 or a '91 and if so which belongs to which? I suppose I could always do something silly like try mounting them but even if they fit, I'm not sure if I'd have the correct spare for each car.

Default '84 or '91 Spare Tire

I can tell you what is stamped on my '88 with 17" wheel option.

K187 11 (Valve Stem) 24 XDX.

The tire is a Goodyear Convenience Spare T155/70D17.

I don't know if this will help, but your '91 should have 17" wheels like mine with different center caps, so the 17" spare should go on the '91. The '84 should be a 16" wheel and tire. Hope this helps.

Check the date codes too if both wheels are same size....if ya lookin for the spare 4 the 91 look on tire for DOT will be a bunch of small row of numbers, the last bunch of numbers [will be 3 of them] should end in a 0 or 1 0=1990 1=1991 if the car was built say in may 1991 the spare should be a few months older a code should read for example 231 23rd week of 1991 .....on 84 a code like 483 would mean tire made 48th week of 1983 [dec1983?] hope this helps Ed

Thanks for the info. The XDX spare is a 17" and the FZ is 16". Now I know which one goes with which car, 17" for '91 and 16" for '84.
