I took a road trip this weekend with my gf to visit her grandparents. It was about a 2 hour drive to Muncie, IN from my house. I've never been there before, so this was gonna be fun. First real trip in my vette. Her grandparents own a '69 red vert and I got to sit in it, unfortunately not running at the moment. It was very nice for such an old car. Her aunt (who lives next door) has a '78 navy coupe.
We had a lot of fun, her grandparents were really nice. They liked my vette too. There were an aweful lot of C3's in Muncie though, I saw at least 10 just driving through town! I didnt see any newer vettes. My gf took pics so I may or may not get to post them. I'll have to bug her. My vette is covered in bug guts right now
2006 Hot Rod Power Tour.
Total trip was just at 4,000 miles.
Rolla, Missouri down to Orlando, Florida for the start.
Actual tour went from Orlando, Florida up to Englishtown, New Jersey. Then back home again. Left home May 31, 2006 and returned back home on June 11, 2006.
Now that is a road trip.
If you’ve never done the Power Tour before, it’s worth looking in too. Close to 3,000 cars (quite a few Corvettes of all years), and loads of fun just cruising with everyone from venue to venue.
I even got to meet forum member CREWZIN on the tour. Wish I could have met more members (I know there were several others out there).

I live in Kokomo, IN which is about 1 hour from Muncie....go there often as they have a nice 1/4 mile drag strip there. Glad to hear your trip was fun and enjoyable.
Took a couple long trips last year. One to Las Cruces NM and the other to Bowling Green. Both trips were awesome, especially if you're cruisin with someone ya love. But don't tell my wife, SHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Taking my first road trip in the Vette for the first time this Thursday and going to of all places - the National Corvette Museum and taking the assembly plant tour. Returnin on Saturday - anybody know of anything else to do in Bowling Green? Do not want to hijack this thread so send me a PM. TIA.
I'll be heading down 95 from king george Va to Riverside Florida wed or thurs.... with golf clubs... no wife.... no girlfriend...no dog. I'll be in the Tampa area for a couple of weeks visiting my son and other relatives.
Cool sounds like you guys have some pretty good times too. My trip was only about 100 miles or so, but took 2 hours due to driving through the country. Its weird cause my car looks good next to corn.
Longest road trip yet in the 1985 was about 600 miles roundtrip from outside of Philadelphia to Saratoga Springs, NY in June of this year. I had a blast - that is, aside from two stalling episodes (still investigating) and the acrylic portion of the clear top trying to come off (fixed).
The longest trip yet in the 2003 was April, 2005 - Philadelphia to Chicago to Santa Monica to Seattle to Philadelphia. 18 days, 7,694 miles.
I'm glad you had a fun trip!...I've had the pleasure of a couple of longish trips since I've owned the car...first was Orlando to Bowling Green and back and the second was a two week deal..Orlando to the North Carolina mountains for a week of golf and driving the mountain roads and then on to Myrtle Beach for a week of golf and driving to restaurants...lol...then back to Orlando, about 2000 miles on that trip...
