I just pulled the Bose CD Stereo out of my '94 tonight with the anticipation of sending it out for repairs. Naturally the CD player does not work anymore, and apparently that is far from uncommon. Who have you used in the past and who has the best reputation for this type of repair? I saw numerous repair shops on the internet, and wanted to solicit some feedback from some of you who might have experienced the same problem. As always, your input and feedback is greatly appreciated.
Consider the CD mechanism upgrade. Has a higher sampling rate and is much less susceptable to jarring & skipping from the stiff suspension. In the several years since I had mine done I only recall one time where it skipped but immediately recovered. Plus you can play your home made CDs as well.
I have an 88, and some one put the 94 unit in. I went through it, and it works perfect. I'm wondering if I want to part with it though. It would be nice to add some money, and install the DVD. There such a pain to get out. I guess I would have to cut the harness, so you can wire it to yours. Pretty simple. What ever works...
