I'm guessing that they're not interchangable. If I remember correctly, the heater door operates manually on yours. The auto controller has a motor. I think that the auto uses the sun load sensor, while your's doesn't. I'm sure there are other differences, too, since there are AUTO buttons for both the temperature and fan controls on the auto unit. My auto unit constantly tries to reset to 75 degrees. It's annoying. I'd rather put the thing on 60 degrees & freeze. I don't need the computer trying to tell me that my car is too cold inside of it. It's not too cold for me in hot FL!!!

I don't know if that is the only component required.

it is not the only part of that puzzle. Here is a link that shows the other half http://www.batee.com/corvette/acrepa...oard/c68.shtml and how to repair it. This unit is hidden under the dash, above the steering wheel and is not easy to get to.

For those with C68 AC, print that page to a PDF and save it. Good info.
I'm way too familiar with that program module. The vacuum lines are too short, & the plug for both the vacuum lines & wires should be on the bottom of the unit where it mounts for easier access. I've had to replace mine. It's a total pain to get to. If I have to remove that thing again, Ilm going to put a custom mount under the dash for easier access!!! I may just mount it upside down, & make the vacuum hoses longer. That would work.
Also, I think the Space Shuttle program would condemn this thing, since it breaks down, & one can barely get to it to fix it. All of the crew would die.
