Default Installing seat covers

My seats and covers finally came in, BUT, they are separate. They were supposed to come covered but didn't. How many people have covered their own, and how was it? I might have to track down a shop to do it. They are vinyl from corvette america. I know, I know, they should be leather, but I have a lot of other things to do to the car too and they were cheaper for now. I wasn't sure how the vette bug would bite me, but I will get leathers in the future. They'll look good for a while and I'll be happy enough, and then I'll change them again someday. I thought of doing it myself to begin with any way, but then thought it might be better to just have them done. Just wondering what I'm faced with. They're sport seats too, that should just add to the fun, no?

Yes ... sport seats add to the fun. I'm working on mine right now. The best advice I could give, buy the hog ring pliers, pay attention to the disassembly of the old seats and just reverse the process. One other thing Wal-Mart has poly fill. It's a square piece of foam like material except is made of fibers and can be peeled into smaller layers. I peeled the off about a 1/2" layer, laid it over the seat foam and it made the covers fit perfectly and without any wrinkles.

It's time consuming but you can do it.

I'm a lot farther than Mission. That's just where I got the car, then I took it to the interior (of the province, now I'm working on the one in the car).
I would kind of like to do it myself just for the satisfaction of doing my car myself, but my time is easily consumed - I don't have much of it. I think I'll track down a seat guy to do it. When I first got the car I called the president of a corvette club somewhat nearby and spoke with his wife. She was a lot of help and turned me onto places like ecklers and corvette central. I think I'll call him, or her, again and see who they recommend.

Thanks for the help though.
