Default how do you remove painted on pinstripes?

Hi I want to remove the painted on 1/8" double pinstripe down the side of my white 93 C4. Anyone know a safe way to do it? It is on top of the clear not under it so it should be easyier but I don't want to damage the clear under it. I thought about wet sanding it off with 1200 grit wet sand paper on a block but am worried about sanding through the white paint between the two stripes. I need to remove it clean so I can have some custom work done but if it won't come off clean I'd be better not touching it .Thanks Tim

It wont come off clean. Learn to live with it. A pin stripe is paint and being paint it soaks into the paint its on. Its like a tatto.

For what it's worth, I had a double stripe on mine and attempted to sand it with 1600 and it left some unbuffable scratches, then I found out from my local detailer that a little EZ off oven cleaner works really well-used it without a problem, but use only a little at a time and put it on the rag and rub, not the car-and rub in the direction of the stripe, not up and down. Test a small area first! Good luck!
