Default Productive Weekend

Aside from the lock pillar trim:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1458540

I also needed to replace the spring in my Console Cover. Since I had the cover off, I decided to recover it in black leather:

After:

And got my new sun visors on:

After:

Overall, not a bad weekend

That's a lot of work...you've been a very busy bee.

Looks great, I know when I swapped out my floppy ear visor the new one's were such an improvement. Plus the old one's were faded pretty good.

Yeah, mine had already looked like crap, but coming home from Indy this year the wind got the best of them started tearing away at the fabric, so I pryed open the wallet.

Those were only $99 from the CF Store. Not stock, but for the price, plenty good for right now.

It feels good to actually do something productive once in a while.

It's all the little detail things you do that make you feel good about your ride.

Stock console lid, with original cover still in place. I used contact cement and some thin, rather soft leather. once I got the big piece glued up to the top I then started working on the sides gluing and "clamping" in place (clamps were clothes pins and those metal binder clips you get for papers). It took a fair amount of time becasue I wanted to make sure the glue set up before remving the clips and doing the next section. then in the corners I just carfully cut/tucked/glued and clipped until I got it where I was happy with it.

Oh I agree, the cushioned ones are very nice - but I'm really cheap and I have the leather, so I figured, what the hell.

I couldn't even guess. I'm using (honest to god) leather that my fahter stripped off an old Lay-Z-Boy before he put it to the curb.

As I said - I come from frugal stock! lol

r, that looks really good. but if I can joke with you, if you're really cheap, what'd you do, go to good will and buy a ripped leather jacket for the leather???

hey! glud and some leather isn't bad at all, plus the end result is what counts. don't take it wrong, that's probably some really soft leather, too!
