Excellent info .........but to get to the heart of the matter. You need to purchase a FSM (factory service manuel) for a 95 and there it will tell you how.
There for sale here on the forum and on e-bay all the time.

The 95 vette is a OBDI system with a OBDII ALDL. A OBDII scan tool will not work on the 95. You can jump pins 4 and 12 on the ALDL with a paperclip and the key "on" and it will display trouble codes on the speedometer.
