Anybody know the name of the screw heads that holds the cap to the opti. Trying to take one apart, but ran into these odd screw heads. Help? Thx in advance...
I can't say what the size is but I think it's a tamper proof torx head screw, something in the 8-10 range, if that's any help. The reason I know is I had to buy the deep socket specifically for that job. I had to track down the Snap-on tool salesman to buy one. I could let you know later on today exactally what size you need.

Unless my memory has failed me badly, it's an E4 Torx.
If you can't find a socket to fit, you can borrow one of the screws from your throttle body and use it upside-down as a tool to remove those screws.
It's an E4 torx but you need a deep e4 torx to get in there. That's a great tip about using the throttle body screw. I wish I would have thought of that. When I took mine apart I ended up making a deep E4 out of a regular one. I heated it up in the vise and got out a chisel and beat the thing into a deep E4. Snap On sells a deep E4 for
$12.00 retail.

If you find yourself needing to turn down a round object like that again and you don't have a lathe, chuck the object up in your drill press and spin it, and hit it with a belt sander with a coarse grit belt (spin the belt in the opposite direction of the workpiece's rotation). Makes pretty quick work of all but the very hardest materials.
