Got in my vette this morning to go to work and the healights would not rotate up. The lights came on, but wouldn't come up. I manually turned them up to get to work and about halfway I noticed the lights started looking at the ground in front of me and my the time I arrived at work the left light was not on the road at all (probably from not fully extending them up). When I turned the hedlights off both went down evenly and tried again and still wouldn't come back up. I heard no motor noise.
I had a problem with them a few months ago where they would come up, but not go back down. I replaced the relays with used ones off ebay and they worked properly until now. Would anyone agree this is a relay problem again???
So you hear no noise when the headlight switch was pulled out, but the lights did come on? If so, I would agree on the headlight motor is not getting the signal through the relay and not that the bushings are worn. If you have a FSM you can troubleshoot the problem before spending money on it.
I don't have the FSM as of yet. I didn't hear any motor noise and I am stuck on this one. I am thinking relays, but not for sure. Would like some more advise.

Your car is newer than mine so it may not be like this. On mine there are wire keepers that normally just hang down below the ***** you use to manually crank up the lights. Their purpose is to keep the lights from drifting back down as you drive like happened to you. Crank up the lights, swing the keepers over the *****, and the lights won't work their way back down from vibration. Not a fix for your problem but a suggestion for how to keep the lights up till it's fixed.
I don't mean to try and hijack this thread but thought this might be beneficial to you.
I went into a NAPA parts store last weekend to get a new headlamp and they asked me if I wanted the regular or lightweight. I took a look at both and the two lightweights (plastic) together are lighter than one regular (glass). I bought the lighweight (HP 6054- Halogen) as I imagine they will be a much easier load on the headlight motors/gearing.
I researched the forum afterwards and some members thought they weren't as bright as hella or silverstars but they seemed okay to me.

I haven't had time to actually do some troubleshooting yet. I will try to get on it this weekend. As long as I can manually get the lights to come up that will give me a few days as it isn't my DD.
Daffy, I will check out the headlight control unit and see if it is getting and sending signal.
newbecorvetteguy, I will look at what you stated while I'm in there, but hope to get the problem fixed soon.
Daddy J, my lights work just the housing doesn't rotate up. That is good info though.
The no motor noise seems like the motor is not getting signal.
Any other suggestions or anyone whom has had this problem...feel free to chime in.
