Unlocking Auto X-Ray 2000

somewhere along the line, this was put somewhere and i can't find it so, i'll re-post it here!
....a curiosity; i hear that there is a mod to unlock the auto x-ray 2000 code reader to make it fully functional as a scanner......anyone know how how or ever hear of this?...thanks!
