So I took off the top the other day, installed the hatch vent, and now over every little bump in the road, the hatch area squeaks like crazy!!!!
I can't really pin point the noixe but I think its from the hatch vent itself. Is this due to the added flex of the car with the top off? Is there any way to adjust it so it doesn't squeak? I already tried tightening the 2 screws on the vent but that didn't do anything.

I know many folks drive with the hatch vent in place, but I don't really understand why. I just don't like the idea. I have one but only use it when parked in the sun in hot weather.
I use the hatch vent when it gets real hot in my 92. I have not noticed any squeaking, but you may want to check that the vent latch is firmly connected to the lid latch. Also, a light coat of oil or silicone spray on the struts. You may have a dry strut seal. Good luck!
