Hi. My '86 corvette started to develop a radiator leak. I took it out and discovered it is on the plastic surround on the passenger's side. A 2' split from top to bottom. Are there anyway to fix this or do I have to buy a new radiator. Would be a bit of a pain since I'm in UK.
Thanks
The plastic end tanks on the radiator are junk. Mine had it right at the joint where the metal holds it on. I opted for a new radiator. If it is in a side spot unobstructed, it is repairable, but for the cost, it's worth getting a new one.
I bought a brand new GM one in the box for $141 shipped. The seller has multiples listed and has a high feedback rating. If you don't want to put yourself out there, I can tell you if the one I get is good and you can go from there.
What Triumph said. Mine started leaking last year, pulled it took it to a radiator shop. Guy said he could fix it but it would cost more that a new radiator. He even told me where to get the best price and it wasn't from him.
It might be repairable if in the right location, but for what it would cost to repair what probably is the stock radiator...you can get a new w/o plastic for about the same price.
