I need new tires and I am considering the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval, do you have any experience with them. I have used Firehawks before on other cars and are great.
I will not drive it in snow or mud, but rainy days will be considered, so wet traction is needed also.
I am considering them because of the performance and price. ( I am on a tight budget )
Any suggestions and opinions are as always welcome and very important.
By the way most of my driving involves curvy roads.
I got em, I like em. But the only thing I can compare them to is the old Goodyears that were on the car. They stick well and are great in the rain. Smooth quiet ride too.
What size tires are you talking about? I have some firehawk 500's on another car and love them. I'd have a set in a heart beat on the corvette if they had them in 255/50/16.. If they are out there someplace in that size, let me know. Arlon

The size would be : 255/45 ZR17 Front and 285/40 ZR 17, this are the original size for a 1994 Vette. I found them at Tire Rack, maybe they have the size you need.
It is the best tire you can buy for the road and everyday driving IMO. They stick extremely well on curves and in rain. I tested them out a few weeks after they were broken in. I was able to take curves at speeds I never felt comfortable at before, with other tires. I hate driving in the rain but these tires make it much easier and feel safer. They are not that good for launching at the track though. I would say they are typical of what you would expect from a street tire for that application. If you drag race a lot get something stickier. I did find that mine were a little expensive, purchased from the local Firestone. They also seem to be just a bit more narrow than some other tires of the same size.
