Coolant Sensor Help!
I bought a new Coolant Temp. Sensor Connector, you know the plug that goes into the sensor. The old one was broken and wouldnt stay plugged in, throwing code 14 and 15. The new one is the only one I can find ANYWHERE and it is a GM part. It wont fit into the sensor though without modification. If I could shorten it up a little it will snap right on. Anyone have any experience with this? Maybe some advice?

If you can't shorten the connector the only other option I can think of is to shorten the contact on the sensor. I'm just not sure how much you have to play with.

Right now i've used a sharp knife and trimmed the black plastic down to the contacts, its just barely too long now. I was thinking about pulling the wires out of the back to shave it down some more, but I dont want to kill it. The tab on top is sitting right on the notch on the sensor.
This sensor also fits late 80's Camaros too, so that makes me wonder. Maybe I should write a letter and tell them to develop a shorter one.
