Hi all i am the proud owner of a 84 vette it's cool but needs work: the a/c not kicking in, the cruise doesn't work, the wipers only work in high position and no washier fluid when depressed, the glass top is loose in the front, the rear hatch botton doesn;t activate the release, the left headlight is dim, the stereo isn;t working that great, and thats after owning it for 8hrs. The good news it runs like a scalded dog barks second (like the reference to k-9's twice there don't ya). Sounds awesome and hey it's a vette looks pretty good as well. Glad to be joining up here any thoughts about were I should start?

Regularly use the search function and I promise you'll stay occupied for hours. I been here awhile and it still keeps me up late at night finding out new stuff about my car.

Welcome to the club, and enjoy!!

I think the only thing you listed that I'd make a priority is the loose glass. Nothing else is a problem for daytime driving in nice weather.

Good luck with it - I fell in love with my C4 17 years ago and still love getting into it and driving it every time.

Welcome to the Forum. Attack each problem according to your priority. Ask direct questions to each problem, give as much info as possible and get a factory service manual www.helminc.com
Good luck.

Agree, agree. I guess the headlight and the loose top would be priorities. If it's running great, just tackle the probs one at a time. And as said, use the search button and you'll probably find the answer to each and every problem.

Enjoy the driving!!!!

Welcome - you've come to the right place for tons of help and support (yes, it's an addiction, so this is our support group, but none of us are trying to kick the habit! )

I suggest you fill out your profile - odds are you'll find a lot of local people willing to help out if they know where you are.

Welcome. Fix safety related items first. Things that keep you from driving second and then other items based on their level of annoyance. You'll never be finished but.... Enjoy the ride............

Welcometo the I would guess that your wiper problem and your rear hatch release problem aregoing to need switch replacements. The dim head lamp is prbably due to a poor ground.

Welcome and congrats on the new Vette.

I am also in the process of correcting problems in my new purchase. The search function of the board has been a great help to this end.

Problems?, what Problems?

Fix them as time allows, in the mean-time, do what I do.
Leave the top off. (search the C4 4sale forum)
Don't drive in the rain. (new switch will fix it)
Don't drive at night. (hunt down bad wiring)
Who needs to open the hatch anyway?. (more bad wiring)
Trash the Bose (I put a Jensen CD player in mine).
