TIME TO BUY NEW TIRES . ANYBODY HAVE ANY FAVORITES . MY 94 HAS RUN FLATS . STARTING TO CUP REAL BAD . I DON'T THINK I WANT TO PUT ANOTHER SET BACK ON
JOE
Just put on a set of Falken "Ziex" High Performance (ZR rated) tires last weekend and it sure smoothed out and quieted the ride from the Goodyear Eagles that were on. Got out the door at $630. Good lookn' tread design!
Also replaced shocks at the same time! Went with the Bilsteins that were on the 89Vette when I got it. Went for a complete alignment at the same time.
I've run Goodyears, Firestone and BF Goodrich. So far the Firestone had the best grip but not good enough for me to stop searching for a better tire. :yesnod:
I've being using the Michelins, though the last set of rears hasn't last any where near as long as the previous ones and I've been much easier on them. The place I bought them from has agreed to give me some credit for them on a new set so I'll try them once again. If the next set doesn't hold up like they should then I'm probably going to be making a similar post in the future.
Lots liked Bridgestone Potenza RE730 when I made a similar post not too long ago. They're $168 Each for 275-40-17 all around. I'm ordering them from Tire Rack tomorrow.
I have new Dunlop SP8000's and have been pleased with them. They handle great in the corners. In the winter I am changing the back to 17x11 and the Dunlops come in the 315's size. There are alot of great choices in the tire in the market right now.
Snackdragons,
I haven't autox'd the car. I have found them to be pretty good for grip on the street. I can take on/off ramps 20-40 MPH over the posted speed, and haven't lost grip yet, but these are new tires on a new car for me. I have no comparison to the The Bridgestone Potenza 730's, I have heard they are great tires from several people though.
Just put on a set of KUMHOs....look great.......only time will tell :blueangel: ...total cost in Florida...out the door for $602.00.. :seeya
Where'd you get them?
I see you're across the bay from me, I work over there.
Hava, where'd you get yours? I like the Falkens too.
