help on fire....
my 84 vette was runnin hot and i went and checked and serviced the cooling system. replaced the raidiator t,thermostat,ect. i went to start the engine to see if the timing marks are on piont.5 mins into the process the engine became real hot and i could hear a pinging sound..i noticed the exhaust manifold was on fire.. it backfired also in the intake .. im stuck donyt know whats goin on can aneone help? thanks

Bleed the coolant system. Generally if you don't and there is air in the system about 5 mins is all it takes to max temp it.
Don't know what else is going on. Perhaps a blown head gasket now that it has temp'd? I'd do a compression check to see what going on inside.
