Hello everyone
I am the new kid on the forum . I am repairing some items on a recent 1985 purchase. One of them is Driver side power window is lazy(slow)and the passenger window does not work at all most of the time and if you mess with the switch some times it will take off but it is lazy also. And as long as we are on windows is there a process for adjusting them so they track right up and down and stop on the weatherstrip correctly. I could sure use the help on where to begin. I use to own a 75 a few years back and it had manuel windows. Power windows is a new deal for me. Tks

The early window regulator designs where slow as is.
thanks alot . That sure makes alot of sense if you can upgrade just do it the first time and be done with that project!!! Iwill let you know how it turns out Rp
Yeah, my passenger side was really lazy and then would eventually stop working. Motor overload tripped I think. Anyway, I did have my passenger window upgraded with the newer 86 kit. I took it to a local corvette shop and it cost me $500.00 to get it done. I don't know if that price was good or bad but he sad the parts were $350. All in all it looked like a lot of work to do it yourself so I thought it best to take it to a corvette shop. They had it done the same day. Hope this helps.
I had the exact problem with my 85 that you're experiencing with your driver's seat. I simply replaced the switch and all was well again. You will never get the windows to go up or down quickly unless you replace them with the updated model. The old ones are just plain lazy.
