Hey team- could use some help! Have a stock 91 vert L98 w19k on er'.
Ran like a champ 'til a week ago. Starts right up idles smooth and drives sweet until warmed up. Then still runs fine when you put your foot into it however, it idles like it has a kickin' cam in it! I'm hoping it's not cat related. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Low mileage vette. Have you check the O2 sensor lately? Is the Service Engine Soon light on? Any smoke out of the mufflers at any time during closed loop (engine temp >140 or exhaust temp >600*f)? A plugged cat would show up usually when acceleration is not what it should be...it will glow red (best seen at night) and rattle when hit. There will also be a decreased exhaust flow from the mufflers.
Thanks for the tips! No Check engine lite. No smoke. Gonna check other stuff out tonight. By the way, even though it idles like it has a high lift cam, it never stalls. Eliminating IAC. Thanks again! If you think of anything else, please let me know!
