I was wondering if anybody can tell me how to reduce hydrocarbons in my 88. I had some diagnostics done and apparently I have a bad compression ring or blown piston (they can't confirm which one). I'd like to finish the summer out with driving the car but its making me smell when I drive it now. Not to mention that if I can smell it, its probably not safe. The car will be going in over the winter for a complete engine rebuild.
Any recommendations would be most appreciated.

Don't have any bandaids for a blown piston and would suggest you reconsider driving it until repaired. If you choose to do so, keep an eye on your catalytic converter, very easy to overheat and damage the converter with an engine miss, good luck.
