I am trading off some work to get the red 91 detailed.
Ford plant laid off guy is starting up/continuing his detail and paint shop.
I wire up his light fixtures and add a few outlets in his garage, and he is going to detail the red vette.
He said that it will include wheel wells, and, just about everything really.
He said that I should get some new badges (fuel door and front) to go along with the job.
'About' how much would a detail cost??
The guys finished wiring his garage tonight but I don't know how much I owe them yet.
Thanks in advance.
Joe
I just had one of the best body shops in town buff out the swirls in my black 95 with a wax, total was $75. I got away cheap, they did 2 complete buffs on it. The owner was not satisfied with the first one.
It cost $80.00 in Lansing,MI. area..Includes interior, engine compartment, and a good wax.
You guys must be hiring illegal aliens and paying under the table to get that price. $250 - $300 sounds more like it for a legit business. Got our durango scheduled to go in this weekend for interior detail only. $150 just for that. Hec, just running it through a mechanized car wash costs $12.
Detailing a car can be a long and tedious endeavor. The answer to your question depends on how deep and pardon the pun - detailed, the detailer gets with the car. He has the exterior or interior to work with or he can do both. The exterior will obviously take much longer and is more difficult. The interior, if a full interior job is to be done, will include vacuuming, washing and shampooing the seats and mats and washing all the windows. Depending on the interior's make-up will determine what kind of cleaner will be used on all the plastic, leather and metal.
About six years ago, a full interior/exterior detail went for about $100. Nowadays, you can expect to spend around $200 for a complete detail. To do the job correctly will take the person (if done by himself) all day. I think $300 is a bit high, but I don't doubt that some people charge that much. It's extremely tiresome to do a full detail and I do not envy the people who do this for a living.
I have been doing details in so cal since 2001, and any good detailer can tell you that the price greatly depends on the condition of the car. I can make a good car look great for 100, but to make a horrible car look decent will obviously cost extra. BTW if your in the so cal looking for a detailer who owns a C4, email me at elite_detail@yahoo.com
