I got my vette in may. 85 red with 90k on it.
looks great runs great very well maintained one owner. also has 4+3 trans, which works very well.
It came with a rear wing, and it is stressed. I want to take it off. but have no idea how. looks like a greenwood 2 pedestal.
bolts to rear deck behind the lic plate, remove lic plate and you should be able to get to the mount bolts, maybe...
I don't think that will cut it. I had a spoiler too. I didn't get to mine until the gas tank was dropped. However, you could remove the liscense plate to get to the tail lights to remove them. Then, that should give you some room to maneuver an arm in there with a socket. The nuts were so heavily rusted on my car that the nut had practically fused with the stud. Turning the nut in attempt to loosen it resulted in the stud turning with the nut.
Obviously you'll have four holes on the back of your Vette exposed. two on the fiberglass quarter panels and two on the urethane bumper. Spoilers.......

I removed a spoiler on my 87 vert years ago. I keep adding extensions to a socket wrench and got on my back under the rear of the car. I then had the extensions long enough to be able to reach the 4 bolts way up on top and removed them. Spoiler came off easy.. at least for me.

thanks to all for the help. looks like this will be as much fun as changing the taillights.
I took mine off last weekend. I removed the top around the gas fill, which worked but is not what I would recommend. I decided to tape the bottom of the holes and fill with RTV for now and realized I wouldn't be able to do that from the gas fill door. So, I took of the license plate to gain access to the screws that hold the taillight housings in. I removed the inboard taillight housings and had excellent access to the holes. Mine had two studs on each side (looked like a Greenwood to me) but they drilled three holes.
All you guys pulling the spoliers - I'd kinda like to put one on my '88 'vert but don't have the $ for one right now. If anyone wants to pay it forward instead of trash canning it, I'd pay shipping.
