Default Window Tint

Just got the windows tinted today on the vette and it looks amazing! I'll post a pic when i get a chance. If any of ya'll are near Panama City, Fl, I highly recommend Custom Glass Tining, again, they did a great job.

Yes, by all means, show us how it looks.

I just had my wife's new Honda tinted and it's made me wish I'd had all my vehicles done over the years.

I think I want to have my new windshield for the Vette tinted before he installs it.

Bad tint jobs that bubble up after a couple of years scare me. It is obvious that my Vette was tinted previously as there are traces of adhesive residue. Also, the removal of the material killed my rear window defroster. I'd love to tint but fear of the results keeps it on the "maybe" list. I'll do it as long as I get the guarantee that if it bubbles I can come back and do this.

The aftermath of a bad tint job worried me. The shop that tinted my windows guaranteed the work for 3 years against any problems, not a bad deal. I'll try and post pics as soon as possible.

I live in south Florida (Ft. Lauderdale) and couldn't keep a car down here without it having a good tint. It looks great also and keeps the car cooler.

A good tint job is like the icing on the cake IMHO...I am lucky enough to have a guy who does this for a living live two doors away from me and who does an occassional "side job". Since no one else will post a pic, I'll be the guinea pig, lol...

35% on sides and rear glass on my Medium Grey Metallic 85...well worth the hundred bucks:

I called 2 places to get 35% (legal limit) in my 86 in Raleigh area. I got quotes from $255 to $315. Not many other places for me to call.
I tried it myself. I figured I would try one door, the tint is about $10. After about an hour of trying to reposition it and get all the bubbles out, I gave up. I didn't think it would be easy, but I didn't think it would be that though either.

Still hard for me to pay around $300 though.

No doubt. I watched my guy when he did mine and know he was regretting his quote...the side windows were both done in just a few minutes, but the back window took him quite a while. It's in 3 separate pieces but you'd never know that by looking at it. The defroster grids are so thick he had a rough time getting the film to lay down right in between them. The end result was sweet, but he earned his C note, lol...
