pls help
can i get step by step on proper ignition timing, how to set because ive done everything the book tel me am i doin somethn wrong ? im knew at all of this pls help...im stil backfiring ,overheating mannnn..

Be sure the wires are correctly installed.
Did you remove the distributor? If so, are you sure the engine and dist are lined up properly (#1 TDC).
A timing error won't cause backfiring... unless there are other problems...
Did you disconnect the EST wire?
