But to start you off...
Yes, you can mod a crossfire. Anyone that tells you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.
One thing you need to realize is that the stock intake manifold from Gm won't flow well over 4000rpm. Also, fuel pressure is regulated at around 9lbs. At 9lbs of pressure, your not going to get much spray over 4000 to run the motor anyway.
Before modding anything, I'd recommend an intake modification and increasing the fuel pressure.
These are easy and cheap.
Find a stock GM Crossfire intake (there were actually two made - one with internal balance wholes and one without, if you can find the one with balance wholes, get it... every little bit helps; but this will work with either), next, port the stock intake out... open the runners so it can breath. You can buy an aftermarket intake called a Xram, but the Xram is really just a 4bbl intake with a plate on it for you to mount your dual throttle bodies. By using it, you lose the advantage of the crpssram setup you have with the stocker.
Beyond that, you need a new fuel pump. Install one made for the 85 Vette... it plugs right in and puts out up to 45lbs of pressure. You'll also have to modify your fuel pressure regulator to up the pressure at the throttle bodies.
Those things will give you power over 4000rpm and give you the fuel to run it. I would also recommend adding a set of 1.6 Roller Rockers or your going to lose some of the cars low end performance w/ your top end gain.
From there, any mods you do will give you more yield...
Supercharging is difficult because you need to build an air tight box that encloses both throttle bodies. I don't know of a manufacturer that makes one, but I do know of some guys that have made their own and got them to work. Again, turbo charging is going to be strictly a custom job as nobody makes a kit.
Nitrous is definately an option and the crossfire will respond well to it. It's likely your easier option of the three.
Check out the Crossfire Injection Vault for tech documents, how to's, ect ect... Do a google search for it. You'll have to register, but it's free and theres a great bunch of guys over there.
Good luck
