I am now a proud owner of a 1993 40th Anniversary Ruby Red corvette!
Like all vettes it has its problems. It hasnt stopped rainning here in NJ. Yesterday, 1st time in rain, the wipers were bouncing on the windshield the same way they bounce when the wipers arent wet enough. anyway when i got home was able to move them. there was slight play, which could be the bearings in the motor? do most vettes have this slightplay and all i need is new wipers.
....could the blades be shot or dirty?? I know I went thru the blades hitting one another & they also were jumping across the glass while hitting each other. I did the FSM adjustment steps to the transmission attachment point under the driver's side of the screen that's under the left arm. I have a 90 so check your year FSM. That stopped the hitting and seemed to fix the hopping also...but I cleaned the blades real well with some car wash soap, megs gold class soap, at the same time.
Then I bought some new blades and went thru the hopping thing, like you're having, I cleaned the rubber again with some car wash soap and that seems to have "fixed" the hopping now.
This happenes to me... one time I had the one wiper jump off the windshield so high the arm hit the edge of the hood. That is why i dont use them I just keep the windshield nice and waxed and any speeds over 40 the water rolls off. every now and then if i am stuck in traffic I will hit the mist button to clear the windshield off or have it on the longest delay but i rarely use them
