Hello,
How many owners either use or can recommend something to protect chrome wheels. I use the Mothers chrome polish and the Powerball to keep them clean but I was wondering if I needed something else to protect the finish.
Thanks in advance,

I used to own a diesel full-sized Chevy Blazer with chrome wheels. I had to drive it in the Michigan wintery salt-covered roads. I got a tip to spray them down after every car wash with WD-40. Worked for me but I doubt if you are going to drive the Vette here in the winter.
Hello,
No I dont expect to be driving in the winter but i would like to keep them nice when stored. Do you use automotive wax? Would wd40 be enough for storage use?
Thanks in advance.

Do not drive in the winter once salt has been applied to the road surface. Wait until the spring when the rain has cleared the road of all salt. Vehicle washed with a good product (Zip Wax car wash, etc.) go a long way in preserving the wheels. Most experts suggest a separate sponge to clean the wheels from the vehicle. Regular vehicle washes are critical.
IMHO skip the wax and use a paint sealant. They last far longer.
There are many out there... The oldest, cheapest, most readily available is Nu-Finish.
BUT I use Rejex. It was formulated for military applications to keep helicopter exhaust from discoloring from the heat. I seals the surface protecting it and retards brake dust accumulation on the wheels
I buy it from a Forum vendor X-Autoproducts.com
here's the link
Hello.
To RWS.1 thanks for the info. I will look into that product. I appreciate all the input from our members.
To Shacky, I really like the powerball. Just apply your polish on thw wheel and attach the powerball to a drill motor and procede. Faster than by hand and a whole lot easier too.

I use Rejex too on my chrome wheels. Rejex seals, protects and gives a great shine.
