Hi guys, this is the first time on this site my problem is when i
start the car up the front window fogs up. i checked the heater core and it's good. this does'nt happen all the time. the temp outside has a lot to do with it when this happens. thanks
I take it the passenger carpet isn't wet? Does the fog on the window leave a greasy film? Do you smell coolant? If not then its not the heater core. Heres a thread about your problem. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ght=fogging+up
Some of the GM electronic hvac's actually have a built in purge function wherein the air is directed out of the heater vents at startup to prevent this. It's not perfect. Do check the Evaporator weep hole/drain. Any moisture left in the case will make it worse.
I'm wondering (out loud) if a partially blocked a/c drain could cause this on start up. It's a question, not an answer.
Other than that, actively make certain your car's a/c and heat are turned off when you shut off the car. Then, in the morning at first start, see if it still happens. I'm thinking here, residual moisture in the system.

Mine does this occaisonally as well, but only when starting up hot, never when cold starting.
The drain in the evap/heater box is clear, so that isn't it...but something is doing it. I'm guessing it's the slight amount of condensation on the evap, in which case there is nothing to be done.
