My power antenna hasnt worked on my '85 since I bought it. Its stuck in the up position and the radio still works. I took out the stock stereo system for a CD player and new speakers and considering removing the antenna entirely if it doesnt even work.
I crawled under the car and shined a light up towards the antenna and noticed that there were 3 wires going into the motor. 2 of which look to be cut. They are green, white, and gray. The gray and green wires are the ones that are cut. Is this why the antenna isnt working? If so could I maybe splice the wires and reconect them? Or did somebody cut them for a reason?
Oh by the way, they're cut where the little blue tube slides over them.
Little blue tubes are usually splice connectors. I would bet they corroded off, not cut off. See any greenish copper corrosion? If I am right just splice them back together and you should be good to go (or popping fuses).

Yeah they look cut, but I couldnt be certain cause I figured the blue splice connectors were there for a reason. I dont see very much corrosion on them though, looks to be in ok shape. Thanks.
