Default Windshield

Got a quick question: What windshield is correct for a '96 Collector Edition? Clear or shade?

Aren't all the later C4s shaded (if you mean that shaded band at the top)?

Since mine came without a windshield I wanted to make sure. I haven't even shopped for the replacement yet.

Did you have the windshield delete option?

Seriously though, what caused the old one to either not be there, or be broken?

Does it matter?

The original windshield glass was lightly tinted all over. It did not have a dark band across the top. You can buy replacement glass with the band (in green or blue).
My car bore this out and the installer who replaced it tells me this, too.

You bet! It read: "Old Live Oak + High Wind = Angle of Repose"! Just another day in paradise.
