Spent the evening with a friends son-in-law who's visiting while on leave after spendng the last few months in Quam flying B2 bombers demonstrating our power to the North Koreans.
Find out he loves vettes and hopes to own one someday but has never driven one. So I flipped him the keys and said have a nice ride. Figured if the govmt trusts him with a 2-3 billion dollar airplane I should trust him in my vette. The excitement on his face was soemthing to see. Imagine that........this kid (30yrs old)....a member of a very elite group of special military people flying an airplane that could wipe out several large cities in one missioon gets excited about driving my 91 coupe. I loved having the opportunity to make him happy.
Wished he could return the favor in "his" airplane but "W' might have some objection.
That is such a cool story And you did a great thing. I bet he will never forget that, and will want a Corvette of his own now even more then he did before the drive
Hey cedrop,
thanx for taking care of our guy. Awesome. I wish I could tell each and every one we are behind them and think of them constantly.
We miss them and hope to have them back safe and sound.
Here in my town, last weekend, we had a small air show called
"thunder over the valley"
I bought a kick a** shirt featuring the B2 guys. The back says:
"trust us... you're dead"
