Default Steering wheel loose

Has anyone ever been able to fix a loose sterring wheel... mine is a little loose & I have replace the bearings, tilt cams, tilt springs ect. Not the column mount bolts.

Any ideas... or what have you all been successful at fixing this problem.

Are you referring to the column being loose ? If so I just found out it wasn't the 4 bolts that hold the column to the steering housing. My steering housing is whats gone bad and became worn. I'm going to hold out on this job for another time since I had the thing apart 2 to 3 times already.

Yes, they have, and it depends on what...exactly...is loose.
Need more details...

Default Loose

i have also had it apart about 5 times over the last few years: here is what I have replaced:

Tilt pins (2)
Tilt adjustment cams
Tilt Spring
Tilt Lock spring
Upper column bearings

The actual column is not loose, it seems to be the upper tilt part of the column... where the steering wheel is attached. My 1st tought was it was the tilt pins because it seems to be only loose from that point on. But it was not the case. It seems like a wear problem as it only is loose a little and replacing the above parts helped but it is still about 1/2" loose ... I mean it moves side to side if pulled harder.

I hope this might give you all more ideas. I have heard that they become loose from holding the steering wheel to get in & out of the vehicle over time?

Hmmmm...it seems to me that, having had it apart that many times and doing that much maintenance on it, you'd be an expert on the workings of the column. Man, if YOU can't figure it out, what chance do we have??
My experience, compared to yours, is minimal and I wish I could offer some advice, but it looks like you have covered all the bases but one; the one that is giving you all that movement.
Good luck. Seriously. I can't be of much help...

Are you talking about being able to pull it to the left and down?

Might be the plastic universal type joint, also known as the sphere, that joins the upper shaft to the lower shaft...
